9/11/01 Ten Years Ago Today...do you remember where you were???

I will never forget this day..I was delivering a check to an executive at Volkswagon of America in Michigan...there was a TV on and everyone was glued to it...I watched as the second plane flew into the Towers and the whole room gasped and some of us started to cry...the entire day was so overwhelming...my family was in different parts of the area of MI where we lived...eventually we all got home and watched the horrbile events unfold...pretty much in horror and shock as the rest of the US was, as well...I remember my oldest daughter Becky was very shaken...

Planes Strike the Twin Towers

On Tuesday, September 11, the two tallest buildings in New York — 110 stories each, a major tourist attraction, and crowded with men and women working for financial powerhouses, government agencies, restaurants, and shops — were destroyed.

8:48 am: AA Flight 11 crashes into the North Tower.Tower 2 Is Hit

9:06 am: UA Flight 175 crashes into the South Tower.
Heading Into Danger

As World Trade Center workers descended the stairs of Tower One to escape, firefighter Mike Kehoe entered the building to help in the evacuation effort.
No Exit

As the heat from the inferno became intolerable, trapped workers were forced to jump from the towers to escape the flames.

The South Tower Collapses

In a 2,000-degree inferno, the tower crumples and crashes to the ground at 9:55 am. Minutes later, at 10:29 am, the north tower collapses.

On the Run

Downtown office workers flee the clowds of smoke that swirled through the streets of lower Manhattan when the towers crumbled.

Grimmest Task
Rescuers carry Father Mychal Judge's body from Tower One. He was the first and most famous victim of the World Trade Center attack.

Heroes and Victims

Firefighters and rescue workers worked 24/7 to save lives in lower Manhattan. More than 300 firefighters -- in some cases, entire stations -- were killed in the collapse of the World Trade Center.

Thank You, Mr. Mayor

We desperately needed a leader -- and Rudy (pictured, left) was there. Brave, focused, never far from the front lines, and clearly suffering with us, Rudy was one of the many reasons we were proud to be New Yorkers that week. Also pictured: President Bush, center; NYC Fire Commissioner Thomas Van Essen, right; Governor George Pataki, back left; and Senator Chuck Schumer, back right.

I was not sad one minute when the news of this evil man...he's dead...I only wish they had shown it on TV as they showed the devastation in NYC on 9/11/01.

United States flag gains new meaning in post-9/11 world
Within hours of the attacks, flags seemed to be on every car window, T-shirt and front porch. Walmart sold 5 million by the spring of 2002.
Shortly after the tragic September 11, 2001 attacks on our great country, Americans all over the world raised up ‘Old Glory’ in patriotic understanding of the events that had just befallen our country. The American Flag has always been a symbol of bringing our nation together in good times or bad.

This man was a true hero...he left his home, family, and job for about six years to serve B/C of the situation of 9/11...he is a hero in my book!! My son-in-law...Art Post!!!

NEVER FORGET!!
